Park City’s prime patios and rooftop bars for summertime sipping.
Le Depot Brasserie
Cozy bistro tables and a plenitude of umbrellas on the patio make for an unbeatable alfresco experience at Le Depot Brasserie. It’s the perfect spot to indulge in a platter of ice-bedded oysters or classic wine-steamed mussels, paired with an elegant cocktail or bottle of Champagne. Enjoy live music most weekends and special events, like the French Quarter-meets-Francophile all-day celebration of Fête de la Musique in June. Oui, oui, allons-y!

No Name Saloon & Grill
Since 2000, No Name Saloon’s expansive rooftop bar has been Main Street’s epicenter for shenanigans of all sorts. It’s the go-to spot for the whole crew to enjoy lunchtime burgers and brews or evening cocktails. On a scorching afternoon, I’m partial to ordering a Paloma — No Name makes a terrific spicy iteration with reposado tequila, fire bitters, and sparkling pink grapefruit soda.

Hearth & Hill
Possibly the most pup-friendly patio in Kimball Junction also happens to be, in my humble opinion, the most charming. After a day of adventuring, kicking back with a refreshing cocktail or equally well-built spirit-free sip hits the spot, with Hearth & Hill’s exceptional hospitality making every guest (canine and human) feel welcome. Those in the know snag a much-coveted Dry Cut cider from Kamas-based Dendric Estate when it’s on the menu and stop in for sushi specials on Wednesday nights.

Boneyard Saloon & Kitchen
Boneyard’s legendary rooftop patio bar is no frills, all fun, full stop. That’s not to say that the experience isn’t top notch. The 20 brews on tap are focused and well sourced, and this bustling kitchen nails elevated bar staples and global flavors alike. The wood-fired pizzas are sublime. It gets packed often — live music season from June through September is a huge draw — but the Boneyard’s service team is super friendly and fast.

Tupelo
You may think it’s hard to improve on the cozy comforts of bourbon cocktails and honey-butter biscuits. And while both of those choices are superlative at tupelo, they’re even more appealing when served on the restaurant’s gracious patio area at sunset. If your plans are more aligned with day drinking, the weekend brunch Bloody Mary is an absolute beaut, loaded with made-in-house fermented hot sauce and pickled delights of all sorts.

Cena at The Chateaux Deer Valley
For a hidden gem just off Royal Street’s curve through Deer Valley’s village-esque lodging locus, check out Cena Ristorante. The recently reconfigured outdoor patio area adjacent to The Chateaux Deer Valley’s arrival circle is downright delightful. Expect live music Friday through Sunday evenings this summer, along with gorgeous mountain sunset views to accompany the fantastic modern Italian cuisine and deep wine list.

The Refectory at High West Distillery
Haul yourself to the hills above Wanship, pilgrim. It’s worth it. Lunch or Sunday brunch at High West Distillery guarantees spectacularly spirited cocktails to match the breathtaking Wasatch Range views from the Refectory’s deck. Reservations are a must, and bring an extra warm layer just in case — the weather can turn blustery on a dime in these parts.
