For six generations, the Snider family has carried forward a tradition rooted in craftsmanship, service, and a deep respect for the butcher’s trade. Today, brother-and-sister duo Jacob Wilson and Rachael Wilson are continuing that legacy at Snider’s Meats in Salt Lake City, where their family has served the community for nearly 35 years.
Jacob and Rachael grew up in the business, doing everything from stocking shelves and washing dishes to carrying groceries and learning the trade from the ground up. After pursuing their own paths — Jacob through business and Rachael through teaching — the siblings returned to help lead the family shop into its next chapter.
In an era when traditional butcher shops are increasingly rare, Snider’s Meats remains committed to fresh-cut quality and personal service. The shop offers everything from everyday staples like chicken, pork, and beef to specialty selections, including Japanese A5 Wagyu. Even as food costs and shopping habits continue to shift, Jacob and Rachael have stayed firm in one core belief: never cut corners on quality.

That commitment extends beyond the meat counter. Snider’s has introduced delivery options and continues to adapt to modern customers while preserving the values that have made the shop a local favorite. For many families, shopping at Snider’s has become a tradition of its own, with longtime customers now bringing in their children and grandchildren.
To Jacob and Rachael, that loyalty is never taken for granted. Customers are not just shoppers; they are neighbors, friends, and part of the extended Snider’s family. It is common for customers to know the staff by name, ask about their weekends and return week after week because the experience feels personal.
With its blend of premium products, family legacy, and heartfelt service, Snider’s Meats proves that some traditions are worth preserving, especially when they taste this good.
