Between captivating storylines and impressive figure skating and acrobatics, Disney On Ice performances entertain the whole family—and Disney On Ice: Let’s Dance! is no exception. The show will bring Disney magic to the Delta Center on March 5-8.
During the show, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald act as DJs while the audience is treated to musical stories from Frozen 2, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Moana and Wish.

Mitchel Markkanen, a skater from Spicer, Minnesota, has been with Disney On Ice for seven years. In this show, he’s part of a team of skaters that perform impressive flips and jumps as well as Chef Louis during the show’s The Little Mermaid segment. (Chef Louis famously tries to cook Sebastian, Ariel’s beloved crab friend.) He shared some highlights of the production.
Disney On Ice: Let’s Dance! Brings New Details to the Long-Running Touring Shows
“The show brings a lot of new things to Disney On Ice that people probably haven’t seen before,” he said—among them are acts performed high above the ice with the use of bungees, sway poles and a lyra hoop.
Markkanen’s fiancée, Alexarae, plays one of King Triton’s daughters in the lyra hoop performance.
Other highlights Markkanen mentions include an enchanting solo performed by Frozen 2’s Elsa, a duet performance featuring Moana, and three songs from the 2023 film Wish—This Wish, This is the Thanks I Get?! and I’m a Star. When asked if he has any advice for the audience before Let’s Dance, Markkanen advised that they should “be ready to dance.”
Markkanen said so far, one of his favorite tour stops was Spokane, Washington, where he and Alexarae took engagement photos in the fall colors. He has also enjoyed stops in Vancouver and San Diego. With our beautiful mountain scenery and enthusiastic Disney fans, we hope Salt Lake is a memorable stop, too.
