About the artist: Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and educator Roxy Coss is one of today’s most innovative voices in jazz. Named a DownBeat Critics’ Poll Rising Star and an ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award winner, she has released six acclaimed albums as a leader and performed worldwide at top festivals and venues. A fixture on the New York scene for over fifteen years, she has shared the stage with legends including Clark Terry, Louis Hayes, and the Mingus Big Band, while leading her own celebrated Roxy Coss Quintet. Beyond performance, she is Founder and President of the Women in Jazz Organization (WIJO), Co-Artistic Director of the Brubeck Jazz Summit, and incoming Director of Jazz Studies at Stony Brook University.
