SLCC 2011 Raw Couture

Salt Lake Community College's advanced student fashion designers showcased their work at Raw Couture at the Jeanne Wagner Theater in the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center on April 16. Sterling Bitsue won the first place judges award with sophisticated, Audrey Hepburn-style designs including beautiful hats and gloves. Breana Eck came in second place and Emily Nixon in third. Clothes were modeled by McCarty Talent Agency and Urban Talent Agency models. This year's judges were Salt Lake magazine's Jenni Stokes, Bill and Sharon Loya of Bill Loya boutique, local artist Lisa Scopes Oliver and Ken Burrell of Utah Symphony and Opera. All proceeds benefited SLCC's Fashion Institute. After the show, a reception was held for the audience to meet all ten talented designers—many were asked to design custom outfits for audience members.
