Pioneer Theatre Company Bravo Awards 2012

Pioneer Theatre held the 2012 Bravo! Award Gala at Rice Eccles Tower on May 4, just before the first showing of the season's final play, Man of La Mancha at the nearby theater. Charles Morey, who is stepping down after 28 years as artistic director at the theater, received this year's award. Keynote speakers, including University President David Pershing, praised Morey for his work at the theater, and guests enjoyed food from Utah Food Services and live music. Artist Zach Proctor unveiled his portrait of Morey, and the theater presented Morey with an award plaque on stage just before the play started. More than 300 people came to show their support at the gala, and the theater raised nearly $100,000 for theater programs.
