pARTy for Rape Recovery

The Rape Recovery Center raised about $50,000 at the pARTy for Rape Recovery at the Emma Eccles Conservatory at Westminster College on April 29. Executive Director, Heather Stringfellow, gave an address, saying every cent would support the organization's programming. Troy D'Ambrosio and Frank Pignanelli worked up the crowd for 300 guests as the night's auctioneers, and a silent auction was held as well featuring local artists' work and items donated by local businesses. Volunteer Theresa Ashman was named volunteer of the year, and she spoke on her experiences with the organization. Sexual violence survivors created artwork before the event for the Expressions of Healing art display, and survivor art was also displayed on individual squares of a large quilt. Guests enjoyed music and delicious food from Sodexo at Westminster College.
