Light Up the Night

The Gateway Mall held the Light Up the Night Concert, putting shoppers in the holiday spirit, at the Olympic Legacy Plaza on Nov. 19. More than 3,000 guests came to see the mall's holiday lights turned on, including the Gateway's tree with more than 100,000 LED lights. Jon Schmidt and One Voice Children's Choir performed, and guests were invited to sing along to carols. The Utah Symphony was on hand and held giveaways throughout the evening. Proceeds from $10 cards for special deals at Gateway stores went to eight different non-profits, including the National MS Society and United Way. The Gateway also welcomed Santa Claus, who got an early start on finding out what kids wanted for Christmas. Next year's event is scheduled for the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
