Head Start's Threads

Salt Lake CAP Head Start runs comprehensive early childhood development programs for low-income children and their families and they raised more than $16,000 at the Threads fashion show at the Salt Lake Hardware Building on May 20. The night started with Head Start children on the runway carrying signs telling what they want their future career to be. Close to 200 people attended, filling the venue to capacity, while Wilhelmina Models and Head Start students modeled clothes from JMR, Lolabella, Urban Blues, Four & Twenty Sailors, Q Clothing, Baby Neenee, Crowsmack and Blueberry Hill. An after-show boutique was set up with merchandise from Jamjewelry Designs, Foxpaws Shows, The Honey Show, Katie Waltman Jewelry Cozette Couture and JLB Designs. All proceeds will go toward classroom and building supplies for a new Head Start school in Magna. Head Start's already planning next year's event.
