Garden Place Dedication

Bishop John C. Wester of the Catholic Church dedicated the new Garden Place and The Walk of Pioneer Faiths at This is the Place Heritage Park on June 29. The Garden Place is the park's new multi-use event center complete with a beautiful garden. Ten monuments dedicated to founding religions of Utah lead up to the building on The Walk of Pioneer Faiths. Reverend Curtis Price of the First Baptist Church, Lt. Governor Greg Bell and Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles gave speeches on the park, the new walkway and Utah's pioneer faiths. Board Chair & Executive Director of This is the Place Foundation, Ellis Ivory led the ceremony, and guests were treated to music performed by The Heritage Singers, Upland Terrace Elementary students and Avalanche under the direction of Ted Shupe.
