FIRST LEGO League Championships

On the morning of Jan. 28, the FIRST LEGO League held the second annual FLL Championships, bringing more then 1,000 spectators and 480 young contestants to the University of Utah. The competition pitted middle school teams against each other in food handling and safety-themed missions on a gaming field using LEGO MINDSTORM technology. The Lady Bots, an all-girl team from Park City, won first place, beating last year's winners team Pi Pod, who won second. Teams more than doubled from last year's event and included students from all over the state. The University of Utah's Office of Technology Venture Development is the operational partner, bringing the league to Utah.
