Clark Planetarium 10-Year Anniversary Gala
Photos by Duke Johnson
Clark Planetarium raised $114,000 at their 10-Year Anniversary Gala on April 11. The evening included a silent auction, which included a prize package of round-trip airfare for two on JetBlue to Orlando, a two-night stay at the Rosen Plaza, a VIP tour of the Kennedy Space Center and lunch with an astronaut, along with monarch butterfly luggage in honor of the IMAX documentary shown at the Planetarium, "Flight of the Butterflies." This year's special guest, Dr. Phil Plait, a former NASA astronomer and writer of the Bad Astronomy blog, which debunks bad science myths, talked on his book Death from the Skies! and how what happens in space could threaten Earth. Plait also held a book signing, and Cuisine Unlimited catered dinner and a cocktail reception.
