Bierstadt to Warhol VIP private opening
Photos by Keith Westerberg
The Utah Museum of Fine Arts, along with Diane and Sam Stewart, held a private opening for the "Bierstadt to Warhol: American Indians in the West" exhibit at the museum on Feb. 7. More than 300 arts patrons, artists and dignitaries got a first look at the exhibit, representing 160 years of portraiture of American Indians in the western United States. Guests enjoyed Southwestern-themed hors d'oeuvres and a signature cocktail with a chile pepper garnish in the museum's great hall, which was decorated with beautiful American Indian rugs. Presenting sponsors, the Stewarts, provided many of the works in the exhibit from their personal collection.
