The Outdoor Foundation held The Outsiders Ball, launching a multi-year, multi-million dollar campaign, raising $335,000 to end the disconnect between youth and the outdoors, at the Gallivan Center on July 30. The sold out event included an area attendees could share experiences that shaped their love of the outdoors on video, an artist corner featuring Jeremy Collins' "Beyond the Doors" installation and an area where attendees were led in quick, impromptu symposiums by Gregg Bagny. The event was emceed by Survivorman host Les Stroud, who also performed with his band, the Campfire Kings. Guests also got information on 100 Outdoor Nation projects and engaged in dialogues on new customers and how they connect with the outdoors. An after party welcomed the first 1,000 guests from the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, which kicked off at the Salt Palace Convention Center the next day.
