Gnomes as art? Well they are art, folk art, yes, and they exist in patches all around the city as a sort of running joke of folklore. Now the Salt Lake Arts Center is asking you to create your best lawn sculpture, gnome or otherwise, for a city-wide exhibit and a chance to win $2,000 (given to the best lawn adornment). The accepted gnomes, flamingos, alligators (whatever, you've seen those in Sky Mall), will be placed in yards and public spaces around the Wasatch Front in a giant artsy, folksy display. Read More
