Ring Around the Rose, a former Best of the Beehive winner, has announced the lineup for its upcoming season.

The monthly shows, hosted by Repertory Dance Theatre, feature local groups like University of Utah Youth Theatre and Ballet West, along with touring acts, in kids’ shows at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. If you have kids, these shows are essential.

Sept. 13: Repertory Dance Theatre

Kids can meet the RDT dancers and join them on stage to create a dance.

Oct. 11: African Drums

The most hands-on Ring Around the Rose show of the season, Andy Jones from Djembe Direct and the African Heartwood project will bring plenty of drums for kids to try out, while teaching dance moves from West Africa.

Nov. 8: Tanner Dance

Some of Utah’s most talented young dancers will put on an all-ages show.

Dec. 13: Creativity in Action from South Valley Creative Dance

Young dancers will teach kids how to create movement through storytelling.

Jan. 10: Ballet West

This show is a great way to introduce the kids to ballet and includes a behind-the-scenes look at Ballet West’s works.

Feb. 14: Fun with Film

Spy Hop Productions and The Utah Film Center will give kids a lesson on how film is made.

March 14: Piano Gameshow

The Mundi Project, Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation and The Gifted Music School team up to teach kids all things classical piano.

April 11: University of Utah Youth Theatre

Young student actors from the U’s youth theatre program will share their joy for live performance with the audience.

May 9: Hatch Academy of Magic & Music

Richard Hatch and his family present a variety show of magic, piano and violin.
