Repertory Dance Theatre is going GAGA this month. And they want you to join in.

The modern dance company, located in downtown Salt Lake, has an exciting new project. #RDTgoesGAGA will run from July 1–August 14, with the goal of raising $7,500 online so that RDT can commission two Israeli artists to add spice to their 2014-2015 season.

For the upcoming 2014-2015 season, RDT is bringing in two new Israeli artists, Noa Zuk and Ohad Fishof, to introduce a new style of modern dance: Gaga Movement Language.

Both artists have strong backgrounds in this unique style, which will be featured in their piece “By the Snake", which they will be working on for four weeks here in Salt Lake. The public will be able to catch the first glimpse of the piece at the premiere of Portal, the opener of RDT's season, which runs from October 2–4.

What is Gaga movement? This cutting-edge modern style of dance, developed by Ohad Naharin, is growing all around the world. It allows dancer to really get in touch with their bodies while tapping into their inner power. Learn more about the dance here.

Here’s how you can help. Donate to the project online here, and earn rewards for donating as little as $15. The unique and specialized rewards range from being entered in a drawing to having RDT perform at a small gathering of your choice.

Experience the exciting new project firsthand at every step through behind-the-scenes updates from RDT’s blog.
