A poem that ran in Sugar House Review, a Salt Lake-based poetry magazine, has been included in The Pushcart Prize XXXIX: Best of the Small Presses Anthology. Hillary Gravendyk’s poem Your Ghost appeared in Sugar House Review's Fall/Winter 2013 edition.

Gravendydk died in May of this year after a prolonged illness she chronicle in her collection Harm. Here's an untitled fragment from Harm:

There is a break under the skin,

forced up like a rough stone.

Someone threaded a loom

of nails, spelled gentle ghost.

What haunts us is our softness

When we touch the places our chests are closed

against each other.

Hillary Gravendyk (1979–2014) was an Assistant Professor of English at Pomona College in Claremont, Calif.
