Batton Lash, the San Diego comic book writer and artist known for Supernatural Law, is basically an honorary Utahn.
Along with being a guest at last year’s Salt Lake Comic Con, he’s done many signings in Utah, thanks to Night Flight Comics, and several Chalk Talks at The City Library. Lash and his wife Jackie Estrada, founders of Exhibit A Press, are currently working with Night Flight’s Mimi Cruz for another visit to the Beehive for the Secret Origins of Reading lecture series.
And now, he’s raising money on Kickstarter for the next Supernatural Law release, Zombie Wife and Other Tales of Supernatural Law.
Supernatural Law, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, follows Alanna Wolff and Jeff Byrd, lawyers who represent paranormal clients (think vampires, werewolves, sea monsters, etc.). In the lead story of the new book, Zombie Wife, Wolff and Byrd represent Mary Lou Henderson, a woman scorned who comes back from the dead to sue her husband for her wrongful death.
The 160-page full color book will also include the stories Werewolves . . . and the Women Who Love Them, A Vampire in Hollywood and The Gods Must be Litigious.
