Say goodbye to winter with this year's Holi Festival of Colors.

Originating in India, the Holi Festival of Colors welcomes spring with vibrant colors and all-around merriment. Participants throw powdered colors at each other while dancing and singing, and an effigy of the legendary evil Holika is burned. (Check out our coverage of last year's festival.)

Utahns have two options to join in the celebration:

Spanish Fork, $3 gate price (kids free), March 29, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. and March 30, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

Salt Lake City, $5 gate price (kids free), May 3, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

We'll be sending our photographer Chelsea Folkerts to Spanish Fork this year. Smile, while covered in color, for her camera.
