Park City may be known for its athletes, but they've never had a male alpine skier who won multiple Olympic golds. Come to think of it, neither has the rest of the United States. Meet legendary Olympian Ted Ligety as he returns to his roots on March 29.

Last month, Ted came home from Sochi with a gold in alpine Giant Slalom. His first gold medal was at Turin eight years ago. Of course, Ted also just won his fifth World Cup giant slalom season title in Switzerland this month.

Ted's epic skiing skills are Utah-grown. “Ted learned to ski, and later to race, right here on our slopes," says Jenni Smith of Park City Mountain Resort. "We are proud and honored to welcome [him] back . . . to his home mountain.”

Park City Mountain Resort and Coca-Cola will host Ted's wecome home celebration March 29, with photos and autographs for fans. Of course, Ted has not forsaken his home powder through all of his success. Between events, he can be seen hitting his favorite Park City runs.

Photos and autographs will take place 10–11 a.m. in the Park City Mountain Resort plaza.
