Listen up, Groucho. Today we're talking about an absolutely essential facial feature.

If you've surfed the internet longer than five minutes, you've probably seen a few examples of how eyebrows can really make or break your face.

Lashes and tans are easy enough to fake and get away with, but shave off your eyebrows and paint 'em back on and chances are everyone will take notice.

Not only should your brows be decently groomed (yeah, that means investing in a good pair of tweezers), but they should also serve the purpose of framing your eyes nicely and adding to your overall look, rather than being an out-of-the-ordinary focal point or altogether nonexistant. Think a happy medium between rigid, tattooed lines and nothing at all.

If your brows rival the likes of Frida Kahlo, lucky you! Bushier brows are totally in vogue these days. Just make sure the two never meet in the middle, OK? Cara Delevingne and Lilly Collins are chic examples.

If you're a blondie, brow care doesn't begin and end with plucking. Fill those suckers in. Eyebrow makeup options are practically endless. Pencil, powder, mousse or gel - pick your poison, just get some color on those bad boys. Platinum blondes should opt for an eyebrow color that's at least a shade darker. And if you bleach your hair, please oh please don't bleach your eyebrows. (Because, first of all, ow.)
