SHEROES United, a local nonprofit created to empower women worldwide, is supporting a global movement to end violence against women, One Billion Rising, at the Gateway Union Station on Feb. 14.

Our photographer will be on site for the event to get pics for the mag.

The event kicks off with a rally and reception, where guests can mingle and enjoy live music, followed by an all-women military honor guard and presentation of Community SHEROES and Honorary SHEROES. The primary keynote speech will be delivered by Kristine Frederickson, BYU and UVU Women's Studies professor, on the state of women worldwide.

Practice for the big dance flash mob will be at 3 p.m., followed by entertainment by women's groups from around the state, along with Taiko Japanese Drumming, ballroom dancing and more.

It all ends with the One Billion Rising Flash Mob.

The event kicks off at 1:30 p.m., and the flash mob starts at 5 p.m.
