Fall this year has been kind to us, giving a long transition full of brisk—but mostly dry—colorful days. We even got to celebrate Halloween without covering costumes with winter coats. But winter is coming, so get your skis and snowboards out and buy those ski passes, because the mountains are already filling with beautiful, sparkling snow.
Here's the scoop on passes to Sundance Resort.
There are eleven different Sundance passes targeted for various age groups. If you're an adult who lives and breathes snow sports, then the Adult Unlimited or College Unlimited (if you're in school) pass is the perfect match. For a slightly cheaper price, you can get the Adult or College Midweek pass, which is valid Mondays through Fridays only, excluding federal holidays.
Junior Unlimited passes are for children 6–12 years old (and must not turn 13 before Jan. 1, 2014). Student Unlimited passes are for teenagers 13–18 years old (and must not turn 19 before Jan. 1, 2014).
For all active military, EMS services, firefighters, police officers, school teachers, and hospital personnel there is the Special Services Midweek pass. It includes Mondays thru Fridays only, excluding federal holidays, and you must show a valid ID to get it. These passes are good for a service person and a spouse.
If you're looking for some special treatment, there are the VIP and Corporate passes, too. Both include line cutting privileges and 15 percent discounts on dining and lodging. The VIP pass also includes two buddy passes for single use. The Corporate pass is a fully transferrable pass with a private label discount dining card for employees. It also offers a 15 percent discount on ski/snowboard lessons.
For those who are retired and love the snow, be sure to get the Seniors pass (ages 65+). And of course, if you want to be in the mountains for a fraction of the cost (and if you want to avoid crowds and sunburn), grab your Night Skiing Only pass.
Some new deals Sundance is offering this year are the Sundance 5-Punch Card for 5 days of skiing/snowboarding for the price of 4, and the Sundance 10-Punch Card for 10 days of skiing/snowboarding for the price of 8. There is also the UTA Upgrade with unlimited access to the UTA Sundance Ski Bus for $29 (not included with season passes).
