Specialty clothing brand Free People is likely one you've heard of before, but gone are the days of shopping the entire collection online, as the first free-standing store in Utah is set to open at City Creek on Friday, October 18.

Free People specializes in a bohemian look of the latest trends and vintage fashion for women who, according to the brand, “live free through fashion, art, music and travel.”

Just in time for a wardrobe transition to winter, Free People is kicking it off with fashionable cold weather apparel like cozy sweaters, winter accessories, essential denim and holiday dresses.

The store’s space of 2,200 square feet has been designed to reflect the rugged side of the Free People girl, with the feel of a studio workshop in white washed bricks and reclaimed wood flooring. Throughout the interior, reclaimed bead board and blackened steel accents are mixed in with feminine glitter plaster walls and twinkle lights. A built-in workbench complemented with vibrant spools of yarn acts as the store’s cash wrap – one of the brand’s favorite installations.

Not only does Free People encourage you to shop independently to your heart’s content, but it also provides a full team of styling experts to help shoppers get the complete Free People look. Stay updated on all of the latest arrivals, events and other happenings by liking Free People Salt Lake’s Facebook page.

Also check out Free People's online style community, FP Me, where you can share your own style, curate a collection and connect with other Free People style lovers.

Ready for the best news? On opening day, the store will give away FP Polish to the first 50 customers who walk in the door, and be on the lookout for a hidden Free People gift card worth $100. What’s more, Nekter Juice Bar will be providing refreshments throughout the day.

Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Check out the new store next week at City Creek, 50 South Main. Happy shopping!
