We're pretty busy at Salt Lake magazine, cranking out our September/October issue. Despite this minor annoyance, I was able to sneak out of the office for a couple hours today to drop by the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market at the Salt Palace. I had just enough time to sprint through one section of the venue, looking for one new product that I felt was worthy of sharing.

The new Bluebuds X wireless headphones from Jaybird stopped me in my tracks. Not to be confused with Smokin' Buds—you know, SkullCandy's earbuds with the thought-provoking name—Bluebuds are wireless bluetooth headphones with an amazing signal distance of 125 feet. In addition, Bluebuds are waterproof and boast eight hours of play time between battery charges.
Say you're wakeboarding on the Jordanelle, for seven hours straight, and you do a toe-side digger as you're crossing the wake. No problem. When you come up for air, and squint the lake water out of your eyes, you remember your phone is safe in the boat and you're still rockin' out like Mick Jagger.
Bluebuds X are a great way to cut the cord from your smart phone MP3 player, whether you want to keep it in your pocket or your boat.
