Do you have what it takes to win the Ultra Iron Pen Challenge? On Friday, June 21, writers face off in a 24-hour writing competition at the SLCC Community Writing Center at Library Square.

Adult and youth writers are invited to participate in one of three categories: fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Those looking for the ultimate glory can compete in all three categories in the Ultra Pen Challenge.

Writers will be given a visual prompt Friday and will have until Saturday, June 22 at 6 p.m. to turn in their submissions. Winners will be contacted Sunday and invited to read selections from their piece that afternoon at the Big Mouth Stage.

The SLCC Community Writing Center supports and motivates those looking to enhance their writing abilities. To register for the Competition visit slcc.edu. Registration for one genre is $12, and it's $30 for the UltraMarathon.
