Kick off summer with some spice, traditional art, dancing and music.

Bring the kids to the Utah Cultural Celebration Center for Fiesta on Saturday, June 1. The event, starting at 6 p.m. and going until dark, offers Aztec ritual performances, a ceremonial torch lighting of the Olmec head and fireworks.

Other activities include stemmed rose giveaways, playing La Loteria, paper flower making, bead stringing and other hands-on activities for kids and adults. Kids will also enjoy balloon animals, bouncy houses and trying to break open a piñata.

You'll love the event for the delicious Mexican food, mariachi sing-along and imported arts and crafts from Mexico for sale in the Una Mano Amiga sponsored mercado. All money raised from the mercado will go toward child healthcare in Mexico.

Artwork at the event will include a gallery titled Mexico Then and Now, showing Mexico's past through the photographs of Agustin Victor Casasola and Mexico's present with contemporary photos by Utah residents.
