Ah, family camping! Although a summer tradition among many in Utah's outdoor mecca, all of the planning and packing for varied conditions can be overwhelming to the point of trip abandonment. As an alternative, Moab Under Canvas invites you to experience a weekend in the wilderness without sacrificing sanity—or your slippers.

Glamping, or glamourous camping, allows vacationers to stay in the wild while having all of the luxury of a hotel. This glamping destination offers breakfast and coffee delivered right to your tent flaps, whether it be the Deluxe, the Safari, or tipi-style quarters you inhabit. Smaller tipis can be moved next to the larger suites to create a structure with multiple rooms.

Seven miles north of Moab, with camp landscape views of Arches National Park, Moab Under Canvas provides full private bathrooms, king-sized beds and private patios, 4-person tents with mattress-padded cots and sleeping bags. No matter where you choose to rest your head, the linens are provided—no need to air out and re-stuff gear bags before setting out to recharge.

Picnic lunches are available by order, as well as an Arches guided sunset experience, complete with beverage and hors d'oeuvres. Dogs are happily welcomed as guests at an added pet fee of $25 for up to two well-attended canines.

While you're there, take part in activities like hot air balloon rides, rafting down the Colorado river, rock climbing, guided hiking or mountain biking, and Hummer tours or Jeep rentals. Moab Adventure Center provides the guides and activities provided for campers, but the surrounding public land allows for guests to hike or bike right from the camp.

"It was not a tough choice to bring Under Canvas to Moab, with stunning rock formations, and a gorgeous desert setting and opportunities for outdoor adventure galore," says Sarah Dusek, who co-owns the Under Canvas franchise, including a luxury camp in Yellowstone, with husband Jake Dusek. "We couldn't wait to develop a desert glamping experience!"

Opening for it's first summer season on June 21, Moab Under Canvas is a great destination for those who want the camping trip without "roughing it."
