Kickstarter has been a valuable program for making creative dreams become real projects. Local Steve Brown, founder of Be the Ball, Inc. is launching his own campaign for the creation of a “Sizzle Reel,”  in hopes of creating an animated film based on the book, The Magic Dozen at Emerald Pond.

The campaign will launch the first week of June in hopes of raising $25,000, and is entirely Utah based.

The film, Henny Bogan, will center around a bullied boy who is lonely and overweight. The child then discovers 12 magical golf balls who help him find the courage and confidence he needs. Once the “Sizzle Reel,” a 60–90 second animated snippet of the story, is created, Brown will be able to take the preview to film studios who may be interested in turning it into a full animated film.

Be the Ball, Inc. promotes the awareness and prevention of youth bullying. They also encourage children to stay fit through participation in all ball sports and learn the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle.

A “Stretch Goal” of $50,000 was set and if reached will help the future goal of creating “The City of Bounce.”

To back the project visit the Kickstarter campaign in June, and make your pledge of $10–10,000. The Magic Dozen at Emerald Pond can be purchased for $10.95 at at Be The Ball’s website.
