No more leaving Fido behind to grab dinner. Starting May 25, and continuing through September, Log Haven will welcome both canines and their human companions.

The Dog Days of Summer is a summer-long, outdoor dining event at Log Haven, which is located in an historic log mansion in the Wasatch National Forest not far from downtown Salt Lake City. The event will be held in the outdoor amphitheater. There are no restrictions on what types of dogs can attend as long as they are sociable and well-behaved. It is up to the owner to decide whether or not a dog needs to be on a leash.

A new summer menu has been created and there will be special treats prepared for the dogs, including K9 game kabobs. A special limited-time drink menu was created for the event, which will feature drinks such as the Melon Collie Mojito, the Sober Dober and the Salty Chihuahua. Whitney Norton, the communications coordinator for the event, says, "we are excited about the event being as owner-focused as it is dog-focused."

The event will begin with a photo contest, which will start May 25 and continue through the end of June. To participate, submit photos of you with your dog enjoying Log Haven, Millcreek Canyon and the Wasatch National Forest. The winner will receive dinner for two.
