The year of the bike continues—first SLC Bike Share made its debut in downtown, and now Salt Lake's first Open Streets event is about to take place along a mile and a half route (mostly on 300 South).
On May 4, 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m, the route from the Rio Grand Depot to the Main Library will be open for walkers, joggers and, of course, bikers. Along with a ride from point to point, the event highlights new uses for street space like dancing and yoga.
The goal is to get locals out of their cars and on to their bikes or feet, while experiencing the community in a completely new way. So, why not join in? You'll already be downtown for the Live Green Festival or Tour de Brewtah.
