Every so often I shuffle through my arsenal of beauty goods and take inventory of what stays and what goes.

The stuff that stays gets used until the last drop, and then it’s replaced and worked in to regular rotation with my other beauty must-haves. Usually, it ends up here as a pick of the month because I think it too practical, useful or fabulous not to share.

With April acting less as spring and more as the limbo between winter and summer this year, this month’s picks might seem as varied as our current temps, but I assure you each one can be put to good use all year long.

Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo, Got Beauty

There are tons of great dry shampoo options out there, and this one is a top contender. The floral fragrance is fresh without being overwhelming, and a single spray goes a long way. Spray it on the roots of your hair and work it through with your fingers or a comb.

Kiehl's Amino Acid Conditioner, Kiehl's

Light enough for daily use, but moisturizing enough for a noticeable change in your hair’s overall condition, this conditioner provides a subtle shine without adding weight.

Doctor T's Supergoop! 'City & Sand' Sunscreen Set, Nordstrom

This kit has everything you need to welcome summer while warding off harmful ultraviolet rays. It includes sunscreen serum, soothing lip balm, water-resistant lotion for face and body, and an antioxidant-infused day cream. Throw it in your pool bag and you’re covered all day long.

L'Oreal Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray, Ulta

Perfect if you’re looking for hold without the crunch. Spray it on for workable texture or as a finishing spray.

Out The Door Fast Drying Topcoat, Sally Beauty

This is one polish topcoat that really lives up to its name, and the ultra quick drying formula also adds a salon quality shine.
