The BRAND NEW sweet, biscuity, salty and caramelized blond chocolate from Valrhona has inspired Caputo's to host a competition among top local pastry chefs.
Battle Blond will feature three lovely ladies squaring off to show their ultimate craft: pastry chefs Amber Billingsley of Vinto, Alexa Norlin of The Rose Establishment and Courtney McDowell of Pago & Finca. The judging panel will consist of none other than three premier Utah chefs, Viet Pham of Forage, Ryan Lowder of Copper Onion and Takashi Gibo of Takashi. The cream of the crop, folks.
For a savory component, Frody Volgger of Caputo’s Butcher Shop will be on hand to offer complementary bites. The gentlemen of Charming Beard Coffee will keep the night lively with their awesomest pour overs, while Uinta Brewing Company will be in the house to sample Spring and Summer session style beers and pair their unique Crooked Line to each chocolate offering. Guest of honor, Alex Espiritu of Valrhona, will be joining in the festivities and overseeing the competition on behalf of Valrhona
Admission price includes tasting the three competing chocolate dishes, savory appetizers and coffee pour overs. Up to four alcoholic beverages from Uinta may be purchased at an additional cost.
