The first official spring weekend is full of contradictions, and I'm not just talking about snow on the daffodils. Spring is a crazy time, famously inspiring foolish behavior like falling in love and this weekend's range of celebrations runs an appropriately crazy gamut.
For example, Canyons goes from crass to glass in just over 24 hours: The 6th annual Spring Grüv, starts this weekend. You can compete in the slightly insane Pond Skimming Contest on Saturday at noon.
And Sunday, bend your elbow around one of the finest champagnes in the world at Cliquot in the Snow at the Farm from 3 until 6 p.m. Both days, and for the next 10 days there will be free concerts in the Resort Village. Go here for details about all of it.
Also on Sunday, Riverhorse On Main welcomes the James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour. Joining chef Seth Adams in the kitchen will be guest celebrity chefs Scott Shields of Blue Moon Beach Grill in Nags Head, N.C., Caroline Fey of The City Kitchen in San Francisco, Calif., and Jodie Rogers from Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah.
The Celebrity Chef Tour began in 2004 as a way to bring the unique experience of dining at New York City's historic James Beard House to cities around the country. At each Celebrity Chef Tour dinner, top chefs come together to create a fantastic multiple-course dinner, each paired with premium wines and/or authentic Belgian beers.
Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission cost, $195, goes to benefit the James Beard Foundation.
