We visited the Outdoor Retailer (the in-the-know code is "OR") show this last weekend. You can read our posts on local prodcuts featured at the trade show (which draws about 40,000 people from across the globe to SLC) and how fashion is driving the outdoor industry. The five products below are as stylish as they are technical and come spring you are going to want to have them. Stay tuned: We'll also post our picks for cool new tech gadgets.
(1) Water Bottles by Lifefactory
This company started in 2007 and offers water bottles in just about every color you can think of. Made of glass encased in a protecive silicone sleeve, the bottles feature modern design, eco-friendly composition and utility and are BPA and Phthalate-free. The cap and sleeve are made in the United States, the glass bottles in France. New this spring the Lifefactory straw cap easy-pop up spout.

(2) VivoBarefoot Lifestyle Ladies Collection
VivoBarefoot is at the forefront of the barefoot revolution along with Merrell and Vibram. In addition to the sport and running shoe lines, the brand has branched out to include boots, ballet flats and Mary Jane styles so you can live barefoot all day, everyday.

(3) Sherpani ibags
Sherpani is a young company out of Boulder, Colo. that, for the last decade, has made stylish functional purses and bags for women. This spring they are introducing a line specifically designed for e-readers, iphones, ipads, laptops and tablets. It is similar in look and feel to the brand's Moda Sport Line.

(4) French Knot
Lindsey Mason's 2013 line is comprised of luxurious wools (merino and mohair), cotton hats, headbands, hand warmers and felted ornaments all hand crafted by female artisans in the Himalayas. You will see this line in smaller local boutiques.

(5) Pacsafe Smart Travel Gear
This company is dedicated to anti-theft travel gear and are recent winners of the IF International Design award. The bags are beautiful as well as secure. New to 2013 is The Herringbone Collection, which blends classic fabrics and antique detailing with anti-theft technology. From the stainless steel wire mesh embedded in the fabric and straps to the RFID safe blocking material, scrambling signals thieves use to steal credit card information and other valuable details. You are one step ahead of the pick-pocketers and bag slashers.
