Just a couple of interesting details...

1. One of the most impressive thing about Viet Pham is his business partner Bowman Brown. Bowman was Viet's sous chef during the Iron Chef competition, and has forged ahead at their restaurant Forage with his own brand of fresh ideas and perfectionist cooking. In a business where ego is legendary and competition gets mean, the support these two talented chefs have shown one another during their rise to fame is as amazing as the fame.

2. True to his restaurant's name, Viet foraged in Central Park for ingredients to use in Kitchen Stadium. In true Euell Gibbons style, he says you could make a meal out of what you'd find growing in the middle of Manhattan. (Check out Stalking the Wild Asparagus.)

3. Viet is not only the most culinarily adventurous chef to appear on Iron Chef America, he is the most sartorially adventurous. During competition on national TV, he wore underneath his chef's apron a pair of bright green pants that would make an Irish leprechaun weep from envy. Yes, full trousers in this year's Pantone color of the year, emerald. Like these, sort of. Take that, all you checkered pants soldiers.
