COCO MONTOYA, THE STATE ROOM, Monday, Dec. 31, 9 p.m., $50

When Albert King, John Mayall and Albert Collins are your major influences as a blues man, you're off to a pretty good start. Coco Montoya has spent the past several decades as an ace guitar player and developing a distinct voice that shows he's not merely a copycat of the greats, but a noteworthy artist in his own right. Expect a couple of lengthy sets for New Year's Eve, along with some special treats courtesy of The State Room boys. And be sure to check the deals with the downtown Sheraton that pairs a room with tix to the show and a ride as well.
