It's been a while since we've seen Counting Crows around here…

Now, the band is on tour supporting their new album "Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation)," and will be in SLC at the Rail Event Center on Aug. 4.

The new album is the band's first independent release, and it features songs written by the likes of Big Star, Gram Parsons, Kasey Anderson and The Faces and Tender Mercies. And why didn't they just write their own record?

"It's simply because we wanted to do THIS one," says singer Adam Duritz.

The tour has been dubbed The Outlaw Roadshow, and the band will be playing with We Are Augustines, Kasey Anderson and The Honkies and Field Report. And if you miss those days Mr. Jones was on the radio so often, it was stuck in your head for an entire summer or just want to check out their new stuff,  you should check out this show. We're going to interview Duritz beforehand to find out more about the album, what the Counting Crows have been up to lately and what fans can expect at the show, so be on the look out for that.

And if you want to win a copy of the new album before the concert, here's your chance:

Leave a comment below telling us your favorite Counting Crows' song and why its your favorite.

We'll pick our favorite response on Tuesday, July 31. The winner will be notified via email, so make sure you leave your email address in the designated field when you leave your comment or you will not win. When we email the winner, its up to him or her to reply to us with a mailing address where the album should be sent. Best of luck!
