If your lunchtime routine is getting a little tired, try out the free Gallivan Center Lunch Bunch Series.
Every weekday offers something new. The performance line-up includes variety shows, bluegrass groups, pop singers, storytellers and more.
Lunch Bunch has been a Gallivan Center offering for approximately six years. “This series is a treat to those people who are coming to our plaza during their lunch time. It promotes good emotions, positive attitudes and this is what people need,” says Lunch Bunch Administrator Tatyana Koshevaya.
On Monday, June 11, the crowd enjoyed a variety show by Showcase USA Vocal and Dance Company.
“It was a kick-off for the upcoming Miss Utah Pageant with younger potential Miss Utah contestants performing in between,” says Jeana Harmon, director of the company and choreographer for Miss Utah contestants.

Ten Miss Utah hopefuls showed off their skills and warmed up for the competition that will be held on Thursday at Capitol Theatre. They displayed an impressive array of talent ranging from jazz dancing to opera singing.
Harmon says the younger students find it inspirational to share the stage with the contestants. It gives them something to aspire to, and a former student has already found her way to a brighter spotlight. “One of the girls that trained at our studios is actually trying out for Miss Utah,” Harmon says.
Showcase USA Vocal and Dance Company have performed at Gallivan Center for a couple of years now. “It’s one of their favorite performances. The audience and the downtown location are perfect,” Harmon says.
