Around here, we're all about showing our support of people and businesses that are awesome. We love hearing about causes aiming to change the world, and we love even more that this "giving some when you get some" thing seems to be totally trending.

It's not news that the cool kids are wearing TOMS - they have been for a while now. The brand started with a simple pair of canvas shoes and a slogan of "One for One." Every time you buy a pair for yourself, a pair is donated to a kid in need. The TOMS lineup continues to expand to new styles and patterns, and they recently added eyewear to the mix. That means for every pair of shades you buy, someone else gets improved sight through a donation of prescription glasses, sight-saving surgery or medical care.

The next time you're in JMR or Lolabella, take a look at their proud display of FEED bags. Not only are these bags ruggedly good looking, but the company's mission is to feed the world. FEED has given more than 60 million school meals to kids all over the world.

Of course every fashionista needs to stay hydrated to keep that healthy glow, so why not drink the stuff that benefits more than just yourself?

If you attended Salt Lake mag's Tastemakers last week, you probably washed each of your delicious tastings down with People Water. This local company donated cases of its bottles, which were handed out by Head Start volunteers. And, you guessed it, for every bottle you drink, People Water gives an equal amount of clean water to someone who needs it.

Does your business donate to a cause? I'd love to hear all about it! Tell me: jadams@saltlakemagazine.com
