This week in Salt Lake City is a tad slower than usual, but there are still some worthwhile options that should compel you to get of the couch and out of the house.
On Tuesday night, Grouplove, pictured above, headlines a Tuesday night concert at The State Room. Reptar is the opener. Grouplove should appeal to fans of pop-friendly rock. These guys have opened for the soon-to-be huge Florence and the Machine. Grouplove just might wind up that big themselves. Tickets are $15 and remain on sale at thestateroomslc.com.
On Monday night, the Mountain West Ballet Company presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at Sandy City Ampitheater. Tickets are available at smithstix.com.
Later this week, on Wednesday the eclectic indie-rockers Broncho and Bad Weather California will bring their highly energized sounds to Kilby Court. BWC is touring behind "Sunkissed," which is punky souding, upbeat album that should translate well live. Tickets remain available through 24tix.com.
And also Wednesday, but a bit later in the night at The Urban Lounge, New York's Here We Go Magic bring their hip indie sounds through. This has the potential to be the coolest show of the week. Hospitality and L'annarchiste are the openers. Tickets remain available at 24tix.com.
And finally Wednesday, Ballet West's production of Innovations 2012 will display some cutting-edge choreography in the first of four performances. This one begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets remain on sale through arttix.org.
