The Beehive Statesmen have been Utah’s go-to barbershop chorus since 1949, and their harmonies have only meshed better with time. These crooners are holding their annual Spring concert on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. The show begins at 7:07 p.m. on both nights.
The non-profit's concert features classic songs like “On a Wonderful Day” and “Shenandoah,” with musical stylings from the whole chorus—roughly 40 men—and individual quartets. To top everything off, the Beehive Satesmen is bringing a few special guests into the mix. Reprise, the 2004 National Collegiate Champions, is giving a reunion performance. Dr. Jerold Ottley, former director of the Tabernacle Choir, will serve as the MC and a guest director.
The theme of the evening, “I Believe in Music,” reflects the motto of the whole group. The Beehive Statesmen work to “keep the whole world singing,” and that’s exactly what they’ll do at their annual concert.
Tickets are $10 individually and $25 for families.
