City Creek Center's pre-opening gala gathered SLC's uber-socialites. Then opening day drew out diehard deal-finders and trendsetters. And opening weekend welcomed the rest of the Utahns eager to experience a classy, new shopping center that can only be described as glamorous. So it's no surprise that during my own City Creek discovery, I found beauty products that made me feel as glamorous as the sparkle on a Tiffany ring.

Honey, I Washed the Kids Soap, $9.45 for 1/4 lb.; LUSH

This block of beeswax-encased goodness smells good enough to eat, and glides on so smooth, you'll be hooked. You can find it at eco-friendly beauty deli LUSH, which carries only conscious, hand-made beauty/body goods chock-full of functional ingredients. Whether you're all-natural, organic or even vegan, you'll be impressed with the shop's quality and quantity of options. You can bet LUSH is a new Beauty Buff destination!

Shea Fabulous Serum, $42; L'Occitane En Provence

It's a line you typically find in high-end hotels or when flying first-class, and now its City Creek store is making it available to the common customer. While still a splurge of sorts, this serum seems to last forever, and makes your skin supple, glowy, and perfectly prepped for foundation (and I'm yet to see the day I turn down anything containing Shea Butter).

Bare Escentuals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss, $18; Nordstrom

Nordstrom's try-it-out "Beauty Bash" on opening morning opened my eyes to a world of department store makeup that actually might be worth the price. One brand worth paying for is Bare Escentuals, which is totally mineral-based. I usually opt for organic lip balm, but one swipe of the tingly, plumping "Moxie" gloss got me hooked, especially when it stimulated my pout into a poppy pink.

Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo, $10.50; Aveda

You've never had a hair-washing like this. The namesake scents invigorate and tingle you happy, all while stripping the gunk out of your hair. You see, "clarifying" shampoo is all the rage, now that experts say that for healthy hair, your shampoo should super-clean so your strands absorb all the benefits of your conditioner.
