It's a busy weekend for Disney fans in SLC. Check out City Creek Center's new Disney Store, and read on for info on the upcoming grand opening. Tonight, don't miss DisneyNautre's film Chimpanzee, kicking off this year's Tumbleweeds Film Festival.

Disney Store Grand Opening

The Disney Store at City Creek Center is definitely the place to be in SLC if you're a kid or have kids this weekend. It's a big mix of Disney princess merch with a little Spider-man thrown in. And the store gave Mickey ears away for the opening on March 22. Designed to give kids "the best 30 minutes of their day," it features a Disney Princess with magic mirror, translucent trees and the Disney Store Theatre playing the latest Disney shows.

If your kids didn't get the ears last Thursday, they can still be in for more at the grand opening on March 31.

Here's the schedule: 10 a.m.—Disney Store opening ceremony, where one lucky kid "unlocks imagination." The first 500 guts will receive a courtesy gift; 12 p.m.–4 p.m.—Meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie Mouse in the mall center court.

Tumbleweeds Film Festival: Chimpanzee

Tickets ($10) are still available for the screening of Chimpanzee, the opening film at this year's Tumbleweeds Film Festival (think Sundance aimed at people 30 years younger).

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at Rose Wagner, 138 W. Broadway, SLC

Chimpanzee, from Disneynature, tells the true story of a young chimp named Oscar. Check out the trailer for the film right here:
