Whether a product is eco-friendly, or includes fresh, natural ingredients, there are plenty of reasons to go green March 17.
Okay, green beer is festive and all, but besides the buzz, it's not really good for much. That's why I'm suggesting that this St. Patty's Day, you trade the cheesy shamrock pins and Mardi Gras beads for green products that give back—either in beauty benefits, or in environmental consciousness.
Here are a few local finds that will have you thinking less corned beef and more cabbage:
Nourish Organic Cucumber & Watercress Daily Face Moisturizer, $8.92, greenpolkadotbox.com
The fresh veggies in this nutrient-rich cream are just part of its "green" profile. The moisturizer was produced completely sustainably, is packaged in a recyclable container, and is 100-percent biodegradable.
Alba Aloe Mint Shave Cream, $6.45, Jade Market, downtown SLC
As if the cooling greens "aloe" and "mint" aren't enough, this natural shave cream also contains super-antioxidant green tea. The extra-smooth shave is just a bonus!
Mineral Eyeshadow in Envy, $18, Nataliya's Healing Center, nataliyashealingcenter.com
Swipe on this enviable shade, and feel good about adorning your eyes, naturally. Most makeup gets absorbed into your bloodstream and processed through your liver, but this shadow is chemical-free, so you don't have to worry about polluting your body (or getting toxins in your eyes).
Alright, so maybe you don't have to swear off ALL St. Patty's Day fun, but if you forget to include green beauty products in your routine, you deserve a good pinch!
