Big, bold and in-your-face patterns made a statement on the runways at New York Fashion Week, which wrapped its Fall 2012 show yesterday. On flowing and tailored slacks, sleek autumn-ready jackets, ladylike dresses and billowing gowns, designers elevated prints and patterns by combining black and white with the occasional pop of color.

I know we're just getting out of winter ladies, but is it so bad to let some early excitement kick in for fall fashion? Me thinks not.
