School of Rock students show how well versed they are in Pink Floyd and The Ramones this weekend at the Murray Theater, but if your teens and tweens are more into hip hop, check out Odyssey Dance Theatre's take on Romeo and Juliet.

Odyssey Dance Theatre's Shut Up and Dance: Romeo and Juliet

Continuing with our music theme, Odyssey Dance Theatre takes Shakespeare's classic romance and gives it a hip hop spin. And it kicks off Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

The show is choreographed by Odyssey Principal Edlon Johnson and So You Think You Can Dance stars Ashleigh and Ryan Di Lello.

School of Rock: Ramones and Pink Floyd's Meddle

The kids at School of Rock channel legendary bands Pink Floyd and The Ramones this weekend at two shows at The Murray Theatre, 4959 S. State Street.

12 p.m. matinee; 7 p.m. evening.

School of Rock is also running The Big Hair Affair—the school's fundraiser concert where you can break out you spandex, combat boots and spiked bracelets. The theme is glam rock/hair metal, and there is a costume contest.

The evening show includes casual dinner, silent auction and costume contest.
