We love floorlamps. In the current issue of Utah Style & Design, designer Kelly Wallman with San Francisco Design gave us pointers as to why they are so useful and stylish for today’s décors:
Have low ceilings? Floor lamps add visual height to a room. Their verticality draws the eye upward.
Need light in the center of the space? In vogue during the 70s and enjoying a big comeback, arc floor lamps deliver light to the center of a space, much like a hanging fixture, but in a much more contemporary and easy-to-install manner.
Short on space? Floor lamps are ideal for tight spaces where there is no room for an end table, or if you need a small surface for a glass or book, choose a floor lamp with a small, built-in table.
Need to read? Floor pharmacy lamps can be unobtrusively positioned near the arm of a chair or sofa for directional task lighting.
