Do you enjoy the rush of watching the brash style of Maksim Chmerkovskiy or the grace of Karina Smirnoff as they jive, quickstep, and waltz on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars? Well, the American Cancer Society may have the next best thing, and it's for a good cause.
ACS invites you to their first annual Salt Lake area Relay For Life Kick-off Event dubbed “Dancing with the Salt Lake Stars.” “Stars” from all over the Salt Lake Valley will perform with the help of DF Dance Studios to raise funds for this year’s Relay. After the stars dance their hearts out, the audience will vote for their favorites by placing money in the stars’ donation buckets. The star with the most funds wins bragging rights as Salt Lake’s dancing queen or king!
See it all on stage at Rowland Hall, 720 S. Guardsman Way, SLC, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9. This event will fill up fast as only 500 seats are available. It's free of charge, but a $2 donation per ticket is suggested.
Once you’ve been inspired by the Salt Lake stars movin’ and shakin’, you can become a star in your own community by registering for an upcoming Relay for Life, a 24-hour relay in which teams take turns keeping one teammate on the route day and night to acknowledge that cancer never sleeps, and neither should cancer research.
